Thus, the bakery business is also having good potential for growth and can give you considerable profit if done in the right way. However, running a bakery needs a hard set skill set too. Apart from the conventional bakery items, you can even invent something of your own that you can sell at your shop. The bakery business is no less different than restaurants, cafes, and juice bars. Location of the shop

In all businesses, the location of your establishment matters a lot as it decides its success and failure. When you are starting a bakery business, opt for a high-end shopping or marketing area where the customer footfall is maximum and buyers can come to your shop. The shop should be ideally on the ground floor where it is easily visible and accessible. Some bakeries have a kitchen at the back or at the top, while some sell the end product delivered by other bakeries. Choose what type of bakery you want to start and decide on the area of the premises. 


Finance

Now for starting any business, you need to make some investment. Hence, you have to look into your financial backing and the amount you are willing to invest. The money that you push into the business can be from your savings or from a business loan that you borrow from a bank. The finance will depend on the size of your business, shop price or rent, raw materials, marketing, staff, salaries, license expenditures, and regular expenses. Considering all these things, the finance of the establishment has to be finalized.

Permits and licenses

There are a couple of permits and licenses that you have to acquire before you plan to start the business of a bakery. It mainly includes food licenses that can be obtained from FSSAI. It shall cost you Rs 5,000 for the license and complete paperwork and 15,000 for five years. Apart from that, you need to have GST registration, fire license, and health license. 

Inventory and display case

To start a bakery, you have to invest in some inventories that will help in making bakery products. These equipment are a bit costly, and they mainly include an oven, planetary mixers, deep fridge, cooling fridge, gas stove, working table, cylinders, and storage utensils. You also need a place where you will keep in display the produced items. Hence, have a well-designed and attractive display area where you can keep the baked food products for sale where customers can walk in and by them. There should be a proper rack and storage area where the products can be kept for display.
